Building Relationships
People. Business. Community.
AWC provides opportunities for personal development, networking, sharing information and community involvement.
Today, African women are in a league that is very different than anything their mothers and grandmothers dreamt for them. With the right kinds of support and opportunity they can achieve whatever they set out to do. However, in general, their journey to personal achievement and self-fulfillment is unique and often at odds with cultural values and traditions that have defined many generations of African women who came before them.
Since 2004, AWC has gained tremendous insight from over 400 event participants from about 20 different countries: 92% African immigrants and 8% non-immigrants. Through organized events members and participants connect, have fun, and discover new possibilities.
Testimonial:
“Sitting around the table and dinning with sisters from several different African countries gave me a sense of great pride and purpose. The amazing thing is that we all seemed to be like-minded and want to build successful relationships with each other. A very uplifting experience!”
